Iglesias, Nogle earn 2022 Shirley Jackson Awards nominations

Fresh off wins at the 2022 Bram Stoker Awards for their novels, Gabino Iglesias and Christi Nogle received nominations for the 2022 Shirley Jackson Awards.

The Devil Takes You Home by Iglesias and Beulah by Nogle are nominated for Best Novel for the Shirley Jackson Awards. The Devil Takes You Home won Superior Achievement in a Novel and Beulah won Superior Achievement in a First Novel at the Stoker Awards on June 17.

The Shirley Jackson Awards recognize the best work published in the literature of psychological suspense, horror, and the dark fantastic in six categories: Novel, Novella, Novelette, Short Fiction, Single-Author Collection, and Edited Anthology.

The other four books nominated for Best Novel are The Dead Friends Society by Paul Gandersman and Peter Hall; Jackal by Erin E. Adams; Unwieldy Creatures by Addie Tsai; and Where I End by Sophie White.

Three other Stoker Award winners also received Shirley Jackson Award nominations.

Alma Katsu’s The Wehrwolf is nominated for Best Novella. The Wehrwolf won the Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in Long Fiction.

Breakable Things by Cassandra Khaw is nominated for Best Single-Author Collection. Breakable Things won the Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in a Fiction Collection.

Screams From the Dark:  29 Tales of Monsters and the Monstrous, edited by Ellen Datlow, is nominated for Best Edited Anthology. Screams From the Dark won the Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in an Anthology.
