Co-founded by authors Wrath James White and Brian Keene, the Splatterpunk Awards honor the best of Extreme Horror and Splatterpunk fiction in five categories: Best Novel, Best Novella, Best Short Story, Best Collection, and Best Anthology.

Lakehouse Infernal by Christine Morgan won the 2020 Splatterpunk Award for Best Novel.

I enjoy reading Extreme Horror and Splatterpunk fiction, and there have been so many releases in the subgenre since the inception of the Splatterpunk Awards in 2018. To keep it organized, I compiled a complete list of all the Splatterpunk Awards winners and nominees.

The most nominated author in the awards’ seven-year history is Christine Morgan. Morgan received at least one nomination every year from 2018 to 2023 for a total of nine with one win for 2020 Best Novel Lakehouse Infernal.

The author with the most wins (5) and tied for second-most nominations (8) is Ryan Harding. Harding won for 2024 Best Collection Transcendental Mutilation; 2022 Best Novel The Night Stockers (co-authored with Kristopher Triana); 2020 Best Short Story “Angelbait”; 2019 Best Short Story “The Seacretor;” and 2018 Best Novella Header 3 (co-authored with Edward Lee).

Transcendental Mutilation by Ryan Harding won the 2024 Splatterpunk Award for Best Collection.

The three other authors tied with Harding for the second-most nominations at eight apiece are Edward Lee, Bryan Smith, and Kristopher Triana. The trio have two wins each. Lee won in 2018 for Best Novel White Trash Gothic and Best Novella Header 3 (co-authored with Harding). Smith won for 2020 Best Collection Dirty Rotten Hippies and Other Stories and 2019 Best Novella Kill for Satan! Triana won for 2022 Best Novel The Night Stockers (co-authored with Harding) and 2019 Best Novel Full Brutal.

If you’ve enjoyed a work of Extreme Horror or Splatterpunk fiction published in 2024, now’s the chance to voice your support by emailing your nominees.
