Joe Bob Briggs and Dee Wallace are among the highlights at the fourth annual FrankenCon 2025 as horror returns to East Tennessee.
Presented by Orbit DVD, the convention is set for Friday, May 9, from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 8 pm. in Hilton Knoxville Airport at 2001 Alcoa Highway in Alcoa. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at www.frankencontn.com.
Scheduled guests include The Last Drive-In’s Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl; actress Dee Wallace (Cujo and The Howling); actor Danny Pintauro (Cujo); actress Kelli Maroney (Chopping Mall); actor Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes); author Adam Cesare (Clown in a Cornfield); actress Rhonda Shear (USA Up All Night); actor Brian Bremer (Pumpkinhead); and director Jill Gevargizian (The Stylist and Ghost Game). Convention goers can attend panels and purchase photo ops with the guests.
Brandon A. Lane of Rants From The Black Lodge Podcast is hosting panels for Maroney and FX artist/actress Kaylie Guerrero. Rants From The Black Lodge Podcast has been highly involved in FrankenCon since the first one in 2022.
“Kelli Maroney was a huge fixture in the formative years of both myself and my co-host Fat Tony,” Lane says in an exclusive interview with lionelraygreen.com. “Her filmography reads like every worn-out VHS tape of our youth, so to say we’re huge fans would be an understatement. Every year we’re lucky enough to be asked to helm panels for FrankenCon, and this year we specifically asked for Kelli — our fandom runs that deep. As for Kaylie, her booth was next to ours last year, and we all became fast friends. She’s incredibly talented and very personable, so our panel with her will certainly be filled with laughter and great stories.”
Lane is excited about this year’s FrankenCon lineup.
“Joe Bob and Darcy returning is a HUGE deal for the Mutant faithful,” Lane says. “I am also looking forward to catching up with Brian Bremer (star of Pumpkinhead and Society) who I’ve become very good friends with. However, that friendship may best tested if he doesn’t hold up his promise and hook Darcy the Mail Girl up with me LOL.”
More than 50 vendors are listed to attend FrankenCon 2025, plus other activities are planned, including an 80s Freak-Out Preshow on Thursday, May 8. Visit www.frankencontn.com for the complete schedule and prices for all events.
