(Editor’s note: Since 2024, Cryptid Quarterly is a feature where I highlight cryptid horror fiction from each quarter of the year, using Amazon Kindle release dates.)
Luka T. Jacobs and Jeffrey B Miley continue their successful runs on the Cryptid Quarterly Top 10 List as they delivered more top-rated cryptid horror fiction during the second quarter of 2025.
Jacobs and Miley each had three titles on the chart, which marks the first time any author has had more than two releases in the Top 10.
Jacobs topped the chart and finished with a trio of titles in the top five, including books three and four in her Nicole Beretti Thriller series.
Miley continues his streak as the only author to reach all six Cryptid Quarterly Lists. This time, Book 53 in his Sasquatch Adventures series along with books five and seven in his Cryptid Classics series earned spots in the Top 10.
There is one newcomer to the Cryptid Quarterly Top 10. It’s author Timothy King. I really enjoyed his novel Port Luck and highly recommend it. I reviewed Port Luck for The Bigfoot Files, a bimonthly column that I write for HorrorAddicts.net. Click HERE to read the review.
So, without further ado, here’s my Top 10 cryptid horror fiction releases from April 1 through June 30, 2025, along with their Amazon descriptions. There’s also a list of honorable mentions worth checking out. Clicking on the book titles takes you to their Amazon pages where they can be purchased.

When an explosion rocks Dig Site Four, security operative Lon Bergis finds only corpses — and enormous footprints vanishing into the dense jungle. Then a scout aircraft goes down without warning, and the nightmare begins. From the shadows emerges a mutated Spinosaurus, awakened and transformed by the meteorite’s strange element. Towering. Relentless. Unstoppable. As the island descends into terror, Bergis must lead a desperate fight for survival — against a monster from prehistory and the ancient horrors that have been unearthed.

And the annual Squatchsota Sasquatch Convention in Duluth — meant to celebrate cryptid lore — is now caught dead center in the uprising’s path.

Being a rancher isn’t for the faint of heart. They are a tough breed of human beings, but a creature has made itself known in the area. Its existence is denied by some, and others quietly accept it as real. It is tolerated and feared until it tangles with the wrong group of ranchers. Mercer is tasked with terminating the beast before the situation spirals out of control. But someone wants it free, and the Saberonis has a head start. #8. The Scape Ore Swamp Lizard Man by Jeffrey B Miley
Publication date: April 17, 2025
Length: 129 pages
Amazon rating: 4.7
Amazon description: Book 5 of the Cryptid Classics series takes readers to the Scape Ore Swamp in southern South Carolina, which is said to be home to a creature known as the Lizard Man. The creature first gained wide recognition back in 1988 when it ventured from its swamp home and revealed itself to a young man changing a flat tire near the swamp. The young man described it as seven feet tall with glowing red eyes. That description gave many reason to doubt its existence. Soon other sightings were recorded, and a local radio station offered a reward for its capture, which no one claimed. It soon became, like most cryptids, a money-making device for the town and the local entrepreneurs. But many believed its existence to be true. This is the story of a monster whose existence is only rivaled by the human monsters around it.

Excited by the chance to finally capture a cryptid on camera, and unaware of the true danger lurking within the shadows, Callum leads the stag party on a drunken expedition into the forest. But nothing is what it seems, and as the party’s numbers begin to dwindle, Callum realizes that whatever is lurking within the trees is very dangerous indeed and that this hunt may be his last.
