Bryan Smith leads nominations for 2019 Splatterpunk Awards

Sp;atterpunk.jpg

One of my all-time favorite horror authors, Bryan Smith, led the nominations for the second annual Splatterpunk Awards with three works on the list, according to a February 4th press release by Wrath James White and Brian Keene, founders of the Splatterpunk Awards.

Smith’s novel Last Day and his two novellas, Dead Stripper Storage and Kill for Satan, received nominations. I read all three, and they certainly deserved the recognition, especially Last Day.

The second annual Splatterpunk Awards recognize superior achievement in the sub-genres of splatterpunk and extreme horror in 2018.

Publisher and author David G. Barnett will receive the J.F. Gonzalez Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the field during the awards ceremony.

The awards will be presented in August during the 2019 KillerCon Convention in Austin, Texas
