
With six wins, Hereditary dominated the Fangoria 2019 Chainsaw Awards, a fan-voted contest honoring the best horror movies released in 2018.
Fangoria, a recently relaunched horror magazine, announced the winners via Twitter during the 91st Academy Awards on February 24. (By the way, Green Book received Best Picture at the Oscars.)
Hereditary won Best Wide-Release Movie, Best Actress for Toni Collette, Best Supporting Actor for Alex Wolff, and Best Director and Best Screenplay for Ari Aster. Fans also voted the film’s most shocking scene, Charlie Meets Telephone Pole, as Best Kill.
Mandy finished with three wins for Best Limited-Release Movie, Best Actor for Nicolas Cage, and Best Score for late composer Jóhann Jóhannsson.
Suspiria won twice: Best Supporting Actress for Tilda Swinton and Best Makeup FX for Mark Coulier.
Bird Box won Best Streaming Premiere Movie, Terrified won Best Foreign Language Movie, Ghost Stories won Best First Feature, and The Haunting of Hill House won Best Series.
Sierra Russell and Josh Russell won Best Creature FX for The Ritual.
