MIDSOMMAR shines brightly at FANGORIA 2020 Chainsaw Awards

Maybe Fangoria should change the name of the Chainsaw Awards to the Ari Aster Awards. The director and another one of his movies dominated the Fangoria 2020 Chainsaw Awards, a fan-voted contest honoring the best horror movies released in 2019.

Aster and his A24 film Midsommar won five of the 16 Chainsaw Awards, according to an article by Phil Nobile Jr. posted February 7th on Fangoria.com.

Aster won for Best Director and Best Screenplay, and Midsommar earned awards for Best Wide-Release Movie, Best Score, and Best Kill. Last year, Aster dominated the Chainsaw Awards with six wins for his film Hereditary, including Best Wide-Release Movie and Best Director.
